Child Physiotherapy

COFK Pediatric Physical Therapists (PT’s) and Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA’s) are a vibrant and innovative group of professionals who assist children birth to age 21 with mild to severe deficits in gross motor skills. It is our goal to promote overall wellness and independence for our patients and families. Our therapists use a variety of techniques to work on movements such as rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, walking and running.

Pediatric patients come to us with one or more of the following underlying problems:

  • Birth defects

  • Premature births

  • Disease Processes

  • Musculoskeletal anomalies of the leg or joint

  • Postural abnormalities such as torticollis

  • Syndromes, such as Down’s

  • Autism

  • Sensory Integration Disorders

  • Brain or spinal cord injuries

  • Traumatic accidents

  • General failure to thrive or developmental delays

Physical Therapists are a wonderful resource for determining the need for adaptive equipment such as leg and foot braces and any device that could help with walking and standing. For those children needing more sophisticated equipment such as wheelchairs, bath equipment or specialty car seats, our Physical Therapists are trained to guide families through this process.

Educating families is a big part of what we do. We want parents and caregivers to feel comfortable assisting their children through difficult physical challenges with confidence.

COFK Physical Therapists are passionate about nourishing each child’s needs with a treatment plan designed just for them.
