Our History

Care Options For Kids (COFK) began operating in Dallas in 1999 and was one of the earliest providers of pediatric home health therapy in Texas. COFK provides services for children who exhibit moderate to severe delays and disorders requiring speech, physical or occupational therapy as prescribed by the child’s primary care physician. A vast majority of children served are birth to age 10; however, the Agency is licensed to treat children from birth to 21 years of age. Today, one in three children receiving home health therapy in Texas receive it from Care Options For Kids.

Our services are performed in a child’s home, private school, daycare setting, or any other designated location considered their temporary or permanent home. Our therapists come to the patient; we work with the child and their parent or guardian in surroundings most familiar to them. This results in an optimally efficient, effective and long-term clinical outcome for the patient. Working with the patient, the family, the physician and managed care or other insurance professionals, our licensed therapists design each child’s plan of care to address the individual medical needs of the child. Our goal is to remediate a patient’s delay or disorder effectively and efficiently.

Our core values of integrity, commitment, compassion, care and excellence are the cornerstone of our company. Our dedication to values, our strong purposeful culture, and our solid clinical reputation have resulted in an established leadership position in our field of expertise and a greater demand for our services. In recent years we have embarked on a carefully managed expansion of our service capability, in order to reach out to children in need throughout Texas. While we have experienced growth, our commitment to excellence in patient care and quality of life for our employees remains the same. We strive to provide the same hallmark COFK experience in every service location.

Today, Care Options For Kids provides services to patients in Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, Temple, Belton, Killeen, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, El Paso, Abilene, Amarillo, and Lubbock, Texas. Whether you are a family with a child in need, a physician desiring to make a therapy referral, or a prospective employee who wants to work for only the best, you will find your experience with Care Options for Kids a satisfying and rewarding one.
